David practices primarily in the areas of workers' compensation including Washington State Industrial Insurance Act, Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, and Defense Base Claims as well as handling personal injury cases. He is an experienced mediator of Longshore and Defense Base Act Claim cases. David is rated AV (highest possible rating) by Martindale Hubble. He is also a Fellow in the National College of Workers’ Compensation Attorneys. David has been named a Super Lawyer for several years.
David is licensed to practice in Washington State, the U.S. District Court for the Western and Eastern Districts of Washington and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has also handled cases in the District of Oregon and the Central District of California. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association, American Association for Justice, the Workers' Injury Law & Advocacy Group and a Washington State Association for Justice Eagle Member. David previously served as a volunteer hearing examiner for the Washington State Bar Association's Disciplinary Board for 25 years.
After working as a labor lawyer for 4 years, David and Michael Welch co-founded Welch & Condon in 1978 and since that time he has represented countless injured workers throughout Washington State and beyond.
David grew up in Tacoma and graduated from the University of Washington in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He received his Juris Doctor (cum laude) from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1974. In his spare time, David likes to spend time with his family, travel, swim and on the waters of the Salish Sea.
